The Users page is where you manage everyone in your organization who has access to Simple-C — preparers, managers, and admins.

Who can see this page

The Users page is only available to users with Super Administrator, Administrator, Manager, or Admin Simple C roles. Regular users won’t see the menu entry.

Getting to the page

Open the Account menu in the sidebar and click Users.

The user list

The list shows the people in your account, with these columns:

  • User — name and email
  • Address — mailing address
  • Rol — the role(s) assigned to that user
  • Company — which company they belong to (visible only to Super Administrators, who can see across companies)
  • Actions — buttons to edit, reset password, or delete

Filtering and searching

Above the list you’ll find:

  • Search — find a user by name or email
  • Company — filter by company (Super Administrators only)
  • Rol — radio buttons to filter by a single role

Click Search to apply the filters.

Adding a new user

  1. Click Add New at the top of the list
  2. Fill in the user’s information:
    • First Name (required), Middle Name (optional), Last Name (required)
    • Email (required) — their login address
    • Email Business (optional) — secondary work email
    • Phone Mobile (required) and Phone (optional) — formatted (xxx)-xxx-xxxx
    • Address, Address 2, City, State, Zipcode
    • Timezone — pick the US timezone they work in
    • PTIN — IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (optional)
    • Password and Confirm Password — minimum 8 characters
    • Role — one or more roles, selected with checkboxes
    • Company — Super Administrators can pick the company; for everyone else it’s set automatically
    • Offices — checkboxes to assign the user to one or more offices
  3. Save

The new user can sign in immediately with the email and password you set.

Per-row actions

For each user in the list:

  • Edit — update any field, including roles and offices
  • Password — set a new password without going through the edit form
  • Delete — remove the user. You cannot delete your own account from this page.

Roles in Simple-C

Simple-C uses these roles to control what each user can access:

  • Super Administrator (superadmin) — full access across all companies
  • Administrator (admin) — full access within their company
  • Manager (manager) — manages assigned offices, staff, and clients
  • Preparer (preparer) — works on tax files and expenses for assigned clients
  • User (user) — basic access for viewing and entering data
  • Admin Simple C (adminsimplec) — administrative access focused on Simple-C bookkeeping features
  • Simple C (simplec) — standard access for Simple-C bookkeeping users
  • Only Payment (payment) — limited role used for accounts that should only access billing

You can assign more than one role to the same user — Simple-C grants the union of the permissions.
